13 Chefs, 26 Dishes, 3 Judges, 1 Food-Filled Evening

On Wednesday, 13 up-and-coming chefs from the region’s Hyatt Regency resorts competed in the 3rd annual Good Taste Series Culinary Competition. Each culinary talent from Florida and beyond prepared two plates – one to align with Hyatt’s sustainable seafood philosophy, and one healthy option to align with Hyatt’s global food philosophy food thoughtfully sourced, carefully served all while supporting Hyatt’s three pillars: healthy people, healthy planet and healthy communities.

Three notable and distinguished chefs and restaurant owners from the Bay Area were invited to judge the talent including:

Ferrell Alvarez –Owner & Chef, Rooster & the Till
BT Nguyen – Owner & Chef, Restaurant BT
Tyson Grant – Executive Chef, Parkshore Grill

While the judges were carefully scoring each plate, members of the media and community were invited to watch and taste the evening’s creations, localsDISH included. Let us tell you, it is not an easy job to taste 26 plates from 13 chefs in 2 hours, but we did the best we could and between the two of us we were successful.

The competition does an amazing job of showcasing the depth within the Hyatt Hotels’ ranks and helps celebrate their many talented staff.
